OUR FIRST DAY IN CAIRNS

Finally, we arrived in Cairns, a place surrounded by the wide nature. It usually has light showers in the morning here but the weather in July is comfortable. People drive cars wherever they go as the places are far away.

We were very tired after the long flight. We met the host family in the airport. My host parents have three daughters and a son. They were nice and friendly. They took us to a shopping mall where we found different kinds of shops, stores and a food court. The prices of the things were reasonable and we bought some souvenirs.

Last night, we played basketball with the girls and the boy for about two hours, during which we shared how we found the sport of basketball in Hong Kong and Australia. We had fries and chicken for our dinner. I think Australians seldom have rice. At first we were a little bit afraid but now we become more friendly and closer with the kids.
