“The Reef Teach” (Day 4)

As usual, we had a half-day lesson in the morning. We went through some listening exercises and our class teacher, Elaine, played tongue twister with us during which we were asked to walk around, find the labels and read them out aloud. We found it a challenging task but it improved both our listening and speaking skills in an interesting way.

After lunch, we had the Reef Teach in a specially designed show room nearby. We had so much fun as we explored the mysterious world of sea animals, the corals, small and giant fish, in the Great Barrier Reef. The teacher who was a marine biologist showed us samples of corals, seashells, sea horses and starfish, too. His teaching was great. We were then given a one-hour free shopping time after the lesson.

For dinner, we had sushi and we have another Japanese girl in our homestay. So far the trip has been awesome and we can’t wait to join the events tomorrow.
